At 6:00 AM, after an early start from your hotel in Siem Reap, transfer to the Angkor Archaeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site listed since December 14, 1992. Begin with a visit to Angkor Wat to witness the spectacular sunrise behind the temple, followed by an exploration of the Angkor Wat complex, renowned for its classical Khmer architecture and vast scale.
Return to your hotel for breakfast, then continue the tour to the South Gate of Angkor Thom, featuring statues of gods and demons. Explore Bayon Temple, located at the center of Angkor Thom, known for its smiling faces of Avalokitesvara. Option 2: Afternoon Departure (after 3:00 PM)
Between 8:15 AM and 8:30 AM, transfer to Tonle Sap Lake, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake, listed as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1997. Enjoy a cruise to explore floating villages, featuring houses on boats and bamboo rafts, floating schools, floating markets, and freshwater mangroves, offering insight into the daily life of Khmer people. Return to Siem Reap to visit Wat Bo, a historic pagoda with unique wall paintings, and Artisans d’Angkor, a center for traditional Khmer crafts. Transfer to Siem Reap International Airport between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM for your afternoon departure.
Option 3: Evening Departure (after 6:00 PM)
Follow the Option 2 itinerary with the Tonle Sap Lake cruise, Wat Bo, and Artisans d’Angkor visits in the morning. After returning to Siem Reap around 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, enjoy free time to explore local markets, relax at a café, or visit additional sites like the Angkor National Museum (optional). Transfer to Siem Reap International Airport in the late afternoon for your evening departure.
