Next, visit the National Museum, a distinctive red building with Khmer architecture built in 1917, housing over 5,000 art objects made of sandstone, bronze, silver, copper, wood, and other materials. Its pink sandstone structure features striking sculptures, lintels, pediments, and friezes, with bas-relief work considered the finest example of Khmer classical art. Locals say its delicate carvings are too fine for men’s hands, attributing them to women. On the return, stop at Pradark Village to observe villagers crafting palm sugar and handicrafts, offering insight into rural Cambodian life and their daily struggles.

Visit Banteay Samre, known for its rose-colored sandstone walls adorned with exquisite carvings and bas-reliefs, among Angkor’s most accomplished.
