This full-day Hanoi City Tour takes you on a comprehensive journey through the capital’s most iconic historical, cultural, and architectural landmarks. Your friendly and knowledgeable English-speaking guide will bring each site to life with rich historical context and cultural insights.
Group Tour Pick-up: 08:00 – 08:30 at your hotel in central Hanoi (Old Quarter and nearby areas). Private Tour Pick-up: Flexible between 08:00 – 09:00 at your hotel.
08:30 – 09:30: Begin your exploration at Tran Quoc Pagoda, located on Golden Fish Island in the scenic West Lake. Admire this ancient 6th-century Buddhist temple – the oldest in Hanoi – with its elegant architecture, tranquil surroundings, and deep spiritual significance.
09:45 – 11:15: Proceed to the Ho Chi Minh Complex. Pay your respects at the Mausoleum (please note: the Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays; an alternative itinerary will be arranged). Stroll through the peaceful gardens and visit the two modest houses where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked from 1954 to 1969.
11:20 – 11:40: Visit the iconic One Pillar Pagoda, an architectural masterpiece shaped like a lotus flower and dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy. This unique pagoda is considered one of the most distinctive in the world.
12:00 – 13:00: Enjoy a delicious Vietnamese lunch at our selected local restaurant, where you will have the opportunity to taste authentic Vietnamese cuisine featuring a variety of local favorites (vegetarian options available).
13:30 – 14:45: Continue to the Vietnam Ethnology Museum, which beautifully showcases the rich cultural heritage, traditions, costumes, and daily life of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups through fascinating exhibits and reconstructed traditional houses. (Note: On Mondays, the museum is closed and will be replaced by a visit to the Women’s Museum.)
15:00 – 15:45: Explore the Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university, established in the 11th century. This serene and historic complex offers a wonderful insight into the ancient Vietnamese education system and Confucian traditions.
16:00 – 16:45: Conclude your day at Hoa Lo Prison, originally built by French colonists to hold political prisoners and later used during the Vietnam War (known to American POWs as the “Hanoi Hilton”). Gain a profound understanding of this important chapter in Vietnam’s modern history.
Group Tour Drop-off: Between 16:30 – 17:30 at your hotel. Private Tour Drop-off: Flexible between 16:00 – 18:00 at your hotel.
After an enriching day exploring Hanoi’s heritage, you will be transferred back to your hotel. Free at leisure and stay overnight in Hanoi. Tour ends.

• Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays. An alternative program will be arranged on these days.
• Vietnam Ethnology Museum is closed on Mondays; a visit to the Women’s Museum will be substituted.
• This tour involves a moderate amount of walking; comfortable shoes are highly recommended.
• If you are traveling with friends on separate bookings, please share your booking details with us at least 24 hours in advance so we can arrange for you to join the same group where possible.
• Group Tour has fixed pick-up/drop-off times. Private Tour offers greater flexibility in timing.
