Your adventure begins in Siem Reap, where you will arrive on Day 1 and be greeted by the warm hospitality of the Cambodian people. Over the next two days, you will immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the region, exploring the awe-inspiring temples of Angkor Wat and the holy Kulen Mountain range.
On Day 4, you will depart Siem Reap and head to the vibrant city of Phnom Penh. Here, you will spend two full days discovering the capital's rich cultural heritage, visiting iconic landmarks such as the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, and the Tuol Sleng Museum.
Your journey comes to an end on Day 6, as you depart from Phnom Penh, taking with you unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for the beauty and complexity of Cambodian culture. So sit back, relax, and prepare to be enchanted by the sights, sounds, and flavors of this captivating country.
- Angkor Wat: This temple complex is the largest religious monument in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's considered one of the greatest architectural and artistic achievements in human history.
- Kulen Mountain Range: This beautiful mountain range provided some of the stones used to build the Angkor temples. Visitors can enjoy scenic views, see the site of the Lingas carved in the riverbed, a reclining Buddha carved in the rock, and a waterfall.
- Tuol Sleng Museum: This museum in Phnom Penh is a stark reminder of the atrocities under the Pol Pot regime. Visitors can learn about Cambodia's tragic recent past and see exhibits about the thousands of victims that passed through the former interrogation and torture facility.
- The Killing Fields of Choeung Ek: This peaceful rural setting just outside of Phnom Penh is the site where thousands of people were killed and buried in mass graves under the Pol Pot regime.
- The Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda: The Royal Palace in Phnom Penh is the official residence of the King of Cambodia and visitors can see the beautiful architecture and grounds. The adjacent Silver Pagoda houses many national treasures, including a life-sized gold Buddha adorned with 9584 diamonds.
- National Museum of Cambodia: This elegant museum in Phnom Penh contains a comprehensive collection of Khmer art, including sculptures, ceramics, and bronzes from prehistoric to modern times. It's a great place to learn about Cambodia's cultural heritage.
