Upon arrival at the Lao border checkpoint, you will be welcomed to Laos by a local guide and venture into the mountainous and remote area of Northern Laos to Oudomxay. The land port on the Laos side is the Sop HounHoun Border, and on the Vietnamese side, it is the Tay Trang Border, Dien Bien Phuhem. We will make sure to stop at the village of Pak Nam Noi, where a market is held every 10 days according to an ancestral calendar and where villagers come to buy goods in the area. We will arrive at Namkat Yolapa in the late afternoon. After checking into your hotel, you are free to leisure. Overnight in Namkat.

After breakfast, we will take an express train to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival you will be met by our staff and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Luang Prabang is one of the best-preserved traditional cities in Southeast Asia. Its tranquility, charm, splendid natural scenery, and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. After a short rest, we will visit The National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a beautiful collection of artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture throughout the ages. We will also visit Wat Mai and climb up to the top of Mount Phousi to explore the sacred, gilded stupa and enjoy a beautiful view of the city and the Mekong River at sunset. Finally, we will visit the Night Market, where you can browse through a lovely selection of handmade textiles. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

8:15am - 8:30am: Today, we will board an upstream cruise on the Mekong River, offering a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside. We will stmalyt the Pak Ou Caves, which are sanctuaries consisting of two large caverns, both repositories for thousands of Buddha images. Along the way, we will also stop at a few villages, including Ban Muangkeo, where the local rice wine is produced, and Ban Xiengmene. We will also have a chance to climb up to Wat Chomphet, offering one of the best views of Luang Prabang from across the river. Once we return to Luang Prabang city, we will take a short drive to Ban Xang Khong and Ban Xieng Lek - small villages well known for their silk weavings and Saa (jute) papermaking. After breakfast, 8:10am - 8:30am, we will transfer to Ban Long Lao where we will first visit the ethnic Khmu village of Ban Longlao Nung before heading to the nearby Hmong village of Ban Longlao Song.     Villa malymalya chance to observe the lifestyles of these two culturally different minority groups and see how they manage to work together on a daily basis, even sharing the same school.

Next, we will continue our excursion to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfall. Along the way, we will stop at the Buffalo Dairy Farm, where we will take a 40-minute tour that includes a guided tour of the mini farm, feeding and washing the buffalo, a milking demonstration, and feeding chickens and rabbits. After the tour, we will visit some ethnic minority villages to learn more about how these colorful people live.

Then, we will continue to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall where we can swim in the turquoise pools or walk along forest paths. On our return to the city, we will stop at Wat Phabath to observe the sunset. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

After breakfast, we will catch an express train to Vang Vieng, a small and tranquil town located on a bend of the Nam Song River. Once we arrive, we will check into our hotel and begin exploring the famous Tham Jang caves. These caves were once used by locals as a hideout from Chinese invaders. The day ends with a superb sunset panorama reflecting over the Nam Song River. Overnight in Vang Vieng.

After breakfast, we take a drive through paddy fields to the Tham Phoukham caves, the country’s beautiful and famous limestone caverns surrounded by forest. Along the way, you will meet local villagers and learn about their daily lifestyle. There is a small natural pool in front of the caves where you can swim and refresh yourself from the heat. After spending the day at the caves and the surrounding area, we return to Vang Vieng and catch the train to Vientiane. On arrival in the capital, you will be met by our staff and transferred to your hotel. Vientiane is a charming and fascinating place with an interesting mix of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French, and American influences. After a short rest, a walking tour is a pleasant way to spend the day, strolling around some of the city’s most historical sites and seeing some of the French colonial architecture. We’ll watch the sunset by the Mekong Riverside and continue to explore until late evening. Overnight in Vientiane.

After enjoying breakfast, we will depart for a visit to the Buddha Park, which is situated near the Friendship Bridge. This park houses around 200 religious images, including Hindu and Buddhist sculptures that are beautifully scattered around the area. The intricate designs and captivating artistry are sure to leave you spellbound.

Afterward, we will visit the Morning Market and the weaving village of Ban Nong Bouathong, where you can see locals producing traditional textiles using age-old techniques. If time permits, you can take some time to explore and purchase some souvenirs to bring back home.
